GRAND FORKS, ND (July 8) - The Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprint Cars were 24 cars strong once again for their 25-lap A-main. Tanner Wish and Blake Egeland led the charge off of turn four to the green flag, with Egeland taking the point down the back stretch.
Thankfully Mack climbed out of his mangled Joe Black’s #92 unharmed.
Egeland regained the lead as the race resumed and built up a comfortable lead over Jordan Adams and Wade Nygaard, who ran second and third, respectively.
On lap nine the caution was displayed again as a pair of East Grand Forks, MN drivers tangled in turn two. Bobby Martin, who transferred out of the B-main, had gain 10 positions before he and Nick Omdahl got together while battling for 10th.
On the restart ninth place starter, Mark Dobmeier, dove to the inside of turn one and completed a slide job on Egeland to take command. However, Nygaard and third place runner, Austin Pierce, kept pace with Dobmeier as the leaders battled through lapped traffic.
In the closing laps, Nygaard and Pierce put on a show of their own as the traded Hail Mary slide jobs for the runner-up spot lap after lap on the smooth and slick racing surface.
When the checkers flew, Dobmeier scored the win; his 121st at River Cities. Nygaard held on to second over Pierce as Chris Ranten and Cory Mack rounded out the top five.
