GRAND FORKS, N.D. (May 12, 2017) – After winning his heat race by nearly seven seconds, and lapping up to second in the process, Thomas Kennedy won the Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprint Car feature. It didn’t come easy for Kennedy, however, as a late race caution put Austin Pierce right behind him
“I got held up there those last couple of laps. On the last lap I saw [Austin Pierce] come underneath me going into one and I knew I had to do something in order to win,” said Kennedy in RydellCars.com Victory Lane.
Kennedy and Pierce came across the line nearly a half lap ahead of the battle for third, where Mitch Mack edged out Wade Nygaard on the final lap. Bob Martin rounded out the top five.
Notable runs were had by Jordan Adams and Casey Mack, who each advanced seven positions to finish sixth and seventh, respectively.
Blake Egeland was the hard charger of the race, driving from 17th to ninth.
The NOSA Sprints will be back in action next Friday night at River Cities Speedway. Racing starts at 7pm in Grand Forks, N.D.
