Croaker led the opening lap over Omdahl and Jade Hastings. Hastings. moved the Ault Construction No. 94 to the inside of Omdahl on the second lap and the pair battled side-by-side until the first caution of the race on lap three.

Hastings took second on the restart as Andy Pake moved to the inside of Zach Omdahl and moved into the third position. Following the second caution on lap seven, Croaker remained out front over Hastings before Pake and Omdahl made contact which saw Omdahl go over the top of the banking in turn which brought his night to an end.

The contact on that restart set up a single file restart which saw Croaker continue to lead, though Hastings used the top of the racetrack to move to the lead coming off of turn two on the following lap as Mark Dobmeier took third from Pake.

Dobmeier continued forwards on lap nine, successfully sliding Croaker to move up to second before the third caution of the race put Dobmeier to Hastings’ inside for the next double-file restart.

Dobmeier stalked Hastings in traffic with ten to go and two laps later, Dobmeier led for about 30 feet attempting a slide job to take the lead but fell off the top of turn two, bringing out the final caution of the race.

Jack Croaker, Andy Pake, and Nick Omdahl battled in the closing laps for the second spot as Hastings continued on for his second victory at the Bullring in as many weeks over Pake, Nick Omdahl, Dobmeier, and Croaker.

Hastings dedicated the victory to one of the night’s new Hall of Fame inductees Mike Johnson and his car owner Jeff Leebrick who passed away two weeks ago. The No. 94 livery that Hastings ran Friday was a throwback design from Johnson and Leebrick’s 1992-94 car.

Andy Pake and Josh Johnson led the 20-lap main event to green Sunday night at Buffalo River Speedway with Pake leading the opening lap over Mark Dobmeier who took second. The lead Duo pulled away from the rest of the field on lap two as Tom Egeland took third after a side-by-side battle with Johnson as Pake set a torrid Pace out front.

In just four laps on the tight quarter-mile, Pake was already working lap traffic as Dobmeier wheelied off the fourth turn while erasing Pake's Advantage.

As Pake was about to work with a set of lap cars, Blake Egeland flipped in the fourth turn, bringing out the red flag but he was ok. Pake chose the inside from on the ensuing double file restart and remained the leader as Jade Hastings took third from Tom Egeland.

Pake continued to run strong out front as he pulled away by about ten car lengths in the couple of circuits that followed the red flag. It took a few more laps than it did on the initial start to reach traffic, but Pake pulled to the rear of the field just before the midway point but was able to continue to pull away from Dobmeier using the top side of the racetrack.

The first yellow flag of the race again cleared the way for Pake with 11 to go. The nine laps he led to this point was nearly as many as he led in his NOSA debut two years ago at Buffalo River when he led 12 laps with his 305 engine over Dobmeier.

Pake again pulled away by ten car lengths in the lap following the caution before the third slowdown of the race which saw contact between three cars in turn two. This brought Kate Taves' night to an end. Taves was making her NOSA debut as the 11th female driver in series history.

With ten laps showing on the scoreboard, that set up a single file restart with Pake again doing as he had all race long, getting good restarts and pulling back to his ten car length advantage over Dobmeier.

With five laps remaining, and lap traffic running around the bottom of the racetrack, Pake continued to use the high side to put distance between himself and Dobmeier. Coming to the flag stand for the two to go sign, Pake put two lap cars between himself and Dobmeier and continued on for his first career NOSA victory over Dobmeier, Brendan Mullen, Jade Hastings, and Jack Croaker.

“With the rain falling, I was hoping that we'd be able to get the race in,” Pake said post-race. “That went pretty good. My car wasn't running quite right. It didn't in the heat race, so I was kind of worried that I wouldn't have the horsepower to pull on them guys, but it worked out.”

NOSA action continues August 16th at River Cities Speedway with the first of the final four races of the 2024 campaign.

Hastings Wins Wayne Anderson Cup Finale at River Cities Speedway

https://www.nosasprints.com/news/hastings-wins-wayne-anderson-cup-finale-at-river-cities-speedway

https://www.nosasprints.com/news/hastings-wins-wayne-anderson-cup-finale-at-river-cities-speedway#comments

Uncategorized

Jade Hastings won his third feature of the season last Friday night at River Cities Speedway which was also the fourth and final race of the 2024 Wayne Anderson Cup. Omdahl repeated his great start from the previous attempt and continued to lead while Weston Olson moved into the third spot in the Olson Underground No. 27.

On lap seven, Omdahl continued to lead by a straightaway as Olson pulled to the inside of Hastings in an attempt to take the second spot. With ten laps in the books, the leaders continued to run around the cushion of the quarter-mile Bullring while lapping through traffic.

Hastings had all but erased Omdahl's lead when Weston Olson peeked to Hastings’ inside and briefly took the second spot. Nick Omdahl also joined the mix in the CMS No. 0 as Hastings got second back from Olson with 13 to go, bringing Nick Omdahl with him as Zach Omdahl jumped over the cushion in turn three which brought out a caution.

Hastings acquired the lead at that point and lined up with Olson to his outside on the double file restart. Nick Omdahl again took the second spot on the restart, though within two laps the top three had pulled away to a good ten car length distance from each other.

The split between the top three. grew past the ten to go mark as Hastings worked flawlessly through lap traffic. In the closing laps, Hastings' lead was nearly a half track as he went on to pick up the win over Nick Omdahl and Weston Olson. Jack Croaker was fourth in the Hugo’s Family Marketplace Eight-Ball and Adam Sobolik completed the top five in the Evil Iron Classics No. 52.

“We’ve been struggling, so it's nice to get Mark [Dobmeier] out of here and have a confidence night,” Hastings said in victory lane post-race. “We tried some things and I felt really good. You just never know until the 13 [Mark Dobmeier] comes back if you're good or not but that’s as fast as I’ve felt here in probably over a month.”

Hastings also dedicated the victory to series co-founder Jeff Leebrick who passed away the week prior. Leebrick was also an integral part of the formation of SJS Racing’s move to Sprint Cars back in 2014.

Racing action continues Friday night at River Cities as the series will be in action during the track’s annual Hall of Fame night. This also moved Mark Dobmeier and the Buffalo Wild Wings No. 13 into second and Jake Blackhurst to third.

Neuman pulled out to about a ten-car length lead while Blackhurst and Christopher Thram battled for the third spot. Dobmeier began reeling in Neuman as the pair worked lapped traffic near the midway point.

With 11 laps to go, Neuman slipped up at the top of turn four, allowing Dobmeier to capitalize and take the lead which Dobmeier consolidated with two more green flag laps before the final caution with eight to go.

Dobmeier set sail from there and already had a straightaway lead before the flagman put five fingers in the air to signify five laps remaining.

Dobmeier had to work traffic in the final three circuits but remained un-phased as he went on to win over Neuman and Christopher Thram who took the third spot in the closing laps from Blackhurst.

Friday night’s 30-lap feature began with a four wide salute with the missing man for series co-founder Jeff Leebrick.

When the race went green Austin Hartmann and Nick Omdahl led the field to green, though a pile-up and turn two that ended Ryan Bowers's night, set up a complete restart.

Hartmann led in turns one and two before Nick Omdahl, in his CMS No. 0, got a good bite off of the cushion and took the lead on the second start attempt, which was also erased by a caution. Hartmann's best of the three starts saw him lead the opening lap over Omdahl and Gage Pulkrabek.

Caution number four on the third lap set up a single file restart where Mark Dobmeier took third from Gage Pulkrabek’s AgServe No. G5 coming off of turn four. After a spirited three-lap battle, Dobmeier took second from Nick Omdahl leaving the latter to battle for third with Pulkrabek before another caution on lap eight which saw Logan Julien's night come to an end.

Dobmeier gained momentum for three laps as he stalked Hartmann for the lead, eventually taking it with a slide job off turn four to complete the 11th lap. Hartmann came back at him, and they nearly finished the next circuit side-by-side, but Dobmeier began to build his lead from that point.

With eight laps to go, Nick Omdahl who was running second, saw his night come to end with engine issues. With five laps left, Scott Thiel began to close in on Hartmann for second. Thiel took second from Hartmann two laps later as Dobmeier continued on for the checkers. Andy Pake took third in the closing lap to complete the podium with Dobmeier and Thiel.

The beginning of the 35-lap on Saturday night saw Dobmeier start on the pole with Laela Eisenschenk to his outside. Eisenschenk, becoming just the second driver in 20 years to start on the front row in a feature with both NOSA and the NLRA Late Models in the same season, brought the King in the Wings finale to green.

Dobmeier led from the start as Logan Julian, Eisenschenk in her Kost Materials No. 15, and Brendan Mullen in his Home of Economy No. 11M, fought for the second spot. Five laps into the race, Dobmeier started working lap traffic and put a pair of lapped cars between him and Julian as the latter continued to be attacked by both Eisenschenk and Mullen again in a three-car battle for second.

Dobmeier continued to lead past a caution on lap 13 and until Jake Neuman had a fire in turn two with 17 to go. Save for a few scary moments, Neuman exited his car okay.

When the race resumed, Mullen and Julian went side-by-side for the second spot. Julian again fought off those charges for the second spot until 12 to go when it appeared something broke on Julien’s car going into turn three, causing hard contact with the outside fence posts on the outside of the Bullring. Julian's night was over, but he was okay.

On what proved to be the final restart, Mullen pulled even with Dobmeier in turns one and two, but Dobmeier again showed his strength and continued to lead. Gage Pulkrabek held off Nick Omdahl, who eventually had to try and keep the fourth spot away from Andy Pake.

Lapped traffic was a factor again in the closing five laps, but Dobmeier continued on to complete the sweep over Mullen and Pulkrabek.

“I can't be prouder of where this team is sitting at right now,” Dobmeier said after completing the sweep. “We've been through a lot of ups and downs. We've always had speed, but we've been kind of on a roll lately and I haven't been this comfortable for probably four years in a Sprint Car. We've really got a good balance on the car and things are working. I’ve got a badass crew that's working all the time and we put a lot of effort, a lot of nights and weekends, a lot of everything on this one. It feels really good to be sitting in the spot where we have a comfortable car, and things are just rolling again like they used to.”

Racing action continues Friday night, July 26th, at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks during their Big Motor Mania event.

Hastings Gets Second Win of the Season During Mid-Season Championship at River Cities

https://www.nosasprints.com/news/hastings-gets-second-win-of-the-season-during-mid-season-championship-at-river-cities

https://www.nosasprints.com/news/hastings-gets-second-win-of-the-season-during-mid-season-championship-at-river-cities#comments

Uncategorized

Jade Hastings extended his point lead last Friday night after winning his second feature of the season during Mid-Season Track Championship and Wayne Anderson Cup Qualifier number three at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks. One lap later, however, Dominic Dobesh went for a tumble in turn two with Olson also flipping trying to avoid the accident. Both drivers were okay, but both drivers' nights were over.

With the accident scene cleaned up, Estenson led the field back to green in the Truline Logistics No. 14T as Brendan Mullen moved the Native Nations Cannabis No. 11M past Jacobsma on the completion of the fourth lap.

On lap eight, the caution came back out for Wade Nygaard as Shane Roemeling's Forks Finest Auto Body No. 31 came to a stop on the top of turn three.

A fantastic restart for Estenson saw him pull away from Mullen by about a half a straight away. Meanwhile, point leader Jade Hastings, driving the Ault Construction No. 8H, was the next to challenge Jacobsma for position as the two went side-by-side for the third position.

At the Midway point of the feature, Estenson started working traffic and his advantage at this point was a was over a full straight away. Dobmeier took the lead in turns one and two with Croaker and Mullen completing the top three at the conclusion of the opening lap.

Misfortune for lap four for the second and third place runners as Brendan Mullen spun into the infield on the back stretch and Jack Croaker pulled to the pit area with engine problems in the Hugo’s Family Marketplace Eight Ball.

This moved Laela Eisenschenk, in just her fourth 410 start, into the second position in the Kost Materials No. 15, as she was looking to become the third female driver ever to score a podium in the 31-year history of the series.

Hastings won the drag race with Eisenschenk down the back stretch when the race went back to green as Dobmeier continued to lead. On lap nine, Dobmeier started working lap traffic as Hastings and Eisenschenk continued to complete the top three.

Dobmeier put three lapped cars between himself and Hastings just before the midway point, a caution for Weston Olson on the back stretch saved Tim Estenson and Brendan Mullen from going a lap down as the two of them charged through the field after starting at the back of the previous restart.

The ensuing restart, however, saw Estenson's run from the rear of the field run into a bit of a hiccup as he spun in turn four.

When the race got back underway, Eisenschenk pulled even with Hastings in the battle for second as Sam Henderson moved in on both of them. He exited the Engelstad Farms No. 26 okay.

The third and final caution of the stint saw Pulkrabek’s night come to an end when he went off of the third turn. I did that for a little bit and then I was like, “I gotta move,” so I started making moves and was able to find a few lanes, make a few bold moves and got up the front.”
Dobmeier and the rest of NOSA’s regulars will welcome the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series to River Cities Speedway on Friday June 7th with racing beginning at seven o’clock.
