The top two pulled away from the field and were already in the lap traffic on lap number three. A caution on lap seven set up the first double file restart of the main event. Brendan Mullen went for a slide job on the restart and took the top spot leading lap number seven.
With Mullen as the new leader, Nick Omdahl moved in on Jack Croaker in a battle for the third spot. A second caution on lap 13 set up the second double file restart of the race. This time it was Dobmeier going for the slide job though Mullen held him off and continued to lead.
Alberta native Kelly Miller joined Omdahl and Croaker in the battle for the third spot. Miller and his strong 360 took the fourth spot as Croaker remained third.
The third caution with 10 to go set up a single file restart as all features go single with 10 or less laps remaining. Mullen had built about a half straightaway advantage before having to work traffic again in just three laps time.
In traffic with five to go it was Dobmeier with the final slide job in turn two to take the lead back from Mullen and held it for a complete lap before the fourth and final caution of the race with 4 to go.
The race was all Dobmeier’s from there as he went on to win over Mullen and Jade Hastings, who took third from Croaker on the final restart. Nick Omdahl finished fifth.
Before the second feature got underway, which was the make-up feature from May 17th, Dobmeier went for a tumble during warm-up laps in turn number three. His crew was able to make repairs in time for him to tag the back of the field. Zach Omdahl and Jordan Graham led the field to the green with Omdahl beating Graham back to the line to lead the opening lap.
On the second lap, Croaker ran into the same problems as Dobmeier in turn three and went for a tumble ending his night.
A great restart for Omdahl saw him continue to lead as his cousin Nick moved into the second spot. The cousins pulled away from the rest of the field with Nick remaining no more than a couple car lengths from Zach in the battle for the lead through five laps.
At the Midway point, the pair remained the class of the field as they worked lapped traffic. Nick Omdahl ran off the top of turn four and beat Zach back to the line to lead with 12 to go. Hastings and Mullen reeled in both Omdahl’s to make it a four-car battle for the lead with 10 to go.
Nick Omdahl began to pull away as Brendan Mullen and Jade Hastings went side-by-side for the third spot just behind Zach Omdahl in the closing laps.
Omdahl continued on for his first win of the season while Hastings and Mullen both passed Zach Omdahl on the final lap to take second and third respectively. Jordan Graham finished fifth.
NOSA action continues Friday, July 12th, as the series gets one final tune-up race at River Cities before next week’s King of the Wings vs. the Interstate Racing Association.
