Friday and Saturday’s races will be the eighth and ninth visits by the IRA to River Cities following their debut in 2003. The three-race mini-series will culminate Saturday night with the $5,000-to-win main event and $500 to start, but along with Saturday’s top prize, a $5,000 three-race points fund being paid to the top five drivers in the three-race stretch will pay the points winner $2,000.
Second will take home $1,500 with third through fifth earning $750, $500, and $250 respectively thanks to Todd LaHaise of Buffalo Wild Wings.
NOSA will be led into the weekend by two-time and defending champion Jade Hastings who won last Friday night in the Ault Construction 8H. Also representing NOSA will be leading series feature winner in 2024, Mark Dobmeier, who has five wins in the Buffalo Wild Wings No. 13.
Nick Omdahl also has a win and is third in points in the CMS Homes 0 and is the most recent NOSA winner at Norman County with his win in 2020.
The IRA will be led by 'The Big Wheel' Scotty Thiel who leads the series points standings coming into the weekend as he searches for his first IRA title. He is trailed by 2022 King of the Wings Champion Jake Blackhurst who stole the Saturday night win in the final corner of the final lap two years ago.
Danny Schlafer is third with Scotty Neitzel fourth in the IRA standings. Neitzel is the last remaining IRA regular to have run the series' first visit to River Cities in 2003. 2022 champion Jordan Goldesberry rounds out the top five.
