Back to School for NOSA Driver Jordan Adams

GRAND FORKS, ND - August 22, 2013 - NOSA driver Jordan Adams' returns to school today as a senior at Central Valley Public School in Buxton, ND. However, Adams maintains more of a sophomore status in his other pastime, sprint car racing. Adams is in his second year of racing with the Northern Outlaw Sprint Association. He started mid-semester 2012 and has been competing regularly with NOSA throughout the 2013 season.

Although Adams is still the new kid in class when it comes to sprint car racing, he does have many years of experience in the subject of racing. He began his racing career at the age of 4, with the KC Pro West Racing circuit, driving a Kitty Kat and 120 snowmobile on Le Mans and ice oval tracks. He also grew up watching current driver, Mark Dobmeier, race and knew that he would jump at the chance to race a sprint car if it was ever presented to him.

Adams learned quickly what a time consuming hobby racing can be. He has had to give up playing football as the games started to conflict with race nights. He is able to maintain his involvement in other school activities though, including Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), student council and basketball. His homework each night also consists of working on the sprint car and helping out on the family farm. Adams commented that his full schedule "makes for some late nights and quick mornings!"

Adams' race team is supported by several alumni of the sport. It consists of pit crew chief, Ethan Thompson, and crew members; Scott Peterson, Ryan Sondrol, Greg Breidenbach and Tim Litzinger. Adams commented that he is grateful to Thompson for "setting up a good car for me each week, sharing his knowledge on the different lines on the track and most of all having patience with me." Adams is hoping to apply that knowledge and improve upon his race report card when he returns to Greenbush Racepark this Saturday. Adams finished 13th in the June NOSA race hosted there.

"I have learned that everything can't be done overnight. It takes a lot of time and patience to turn the laps that you want to turn. I now realize that most of the racers that I run with weekly have been racing for years, and they know what they are doing. They are some of the best out there and each week I am trying to learn from them."
Adams is currently ranked 9th in NOSA points. He plans on running the remaining NOSA shows until the bell rings on the 2013 season.

Adams would like to thank his father, Dave Adams, for giving him the opportunity to race and for his support at the track every week. He also would like to recognize the community and fans for their support, including CJN Motorsports for the help they have offered and for making the sport even more fun.

NOSA Drivers to Compete with World of Outlaws This Weekend

PictureWade Nygaard & his biggest fan hold the checkered flag
Grand Forks ND August 16, 2013: Wade Nygaard and other NOSA drivers will be competing against the World of Outlaw Sprints tonight at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, ND. Nygaard comes into the night with some recent successes, including a win at Jamestown Speedway in late July and at River Cities on August 2nd.

Most drivers have had their helmets hung up since the River Cities double features on August 2nd. A few NOSA drivers, Thomas Kennedy, Chris Shirek and Mark Dobmeier, competed in the 2013 Knoxville Nationals last week in Knoxville, IA. Frequent NOSA guest driver, Donny Schatz, won that event.

While many sprint car fans, crews and even drivers flocked to Iowa for the Nationals, Nygaard and his family took the time to relax at the lake. However, they will be ready to race again tonight and Sunday in Minot, ND with the World of Outlaws.

Nygaard has seen his success build on the track as the season has progressed this year. Nygaard hopes his team's success pays off again tonight while racing at his favorite track. Nygaard applauds the track conditions supplied by River Cities, but most importantly, he recognizes that Grand Forks' has the best race fans of anywhere. Nygaard credits his crew for the increase in the car's speed over the last few weeks and for their new found results consistency.

"These guys are not paid employees, they are all good friends and family that love the sport of sprint car racing.  We have a great time together even away from the track."
Nygaard is hoping to stay up front for the remainder of the season. He is the current NOSA points leader, with only 6 NOSA points races remaining.

Wade would like to thank his crew and sponsors for their support and assistance this year. These include: Auto Finance Super Center, Lithia Ford of Grand Forks, Ground Round,  ICON, Greenburg Reality, JnJ Construction, Demers Store All, Tire One, Steve Kovar,
Premium Waters, Northland Custom Woodworking, Bosh Enterprises, Halls Motorsports, Dahlstrom Motors, Valley Oral, Cash Trucking, Spring Valley Express, Eric and Betty Nygaard.

Proposed Additional Winnipeg Race

Red River Co-op Speedway, near Winnipeg, MB, has invited
NOSA back to race on Thursday, August 29th. This would be the second time NOSA has had a race scheduled with the track this season.

Drivers should email Bill Olson, [email protected], with their yes or no vote, if they would like to add this race to the schedule. This would be a sanctioned NOSA race and a points race.

NOSA has seen their scheduled shortened this year by 7 races because of a cool and wet spring. Tonight, NOSA will be hosting double sprint features at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, ND. The make up feature is due to a rain shortened program from June.

NOSA will not be racing at River Cities Speedway next week, August 9th. Many NOSA drivers will be racing or attending the Knoxville Nationals.
