GLYNDON, Minn. (May 27, 2018) – There aren’t many tracks in the upper Midwest at which Mark Dobmeier hasn’t won. The Grand Forks driver has picked up wins in the Dakotas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa – even as far as Australia – but the winningest driver in the history of the Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprints hadn’t won at Buffalo River Race Park.

Until Sunday.

Nick Omdahl dominated Saturday feature at Devils Lake Speedway for his first win of 2018

CRARY, N.D. (May 20, 2018) – Nick Omdahl’s Devils Lake Speedway dominance continued Saturday night with the Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprints / Canadian-American Outlaw Sprints. Omdahl topped the field of 23 410 Sprint Cars in convincing fashion. Jordan Adams grabbed the lead at the start of the 25-lap event, but he was quickly chased down by Wade Nygaard.

Nygaard took the lead on lap four and looked to have the car to beat until the halfway point. That’s when Omdahl made his way into second and reeled in Nygaard in lapped traffic. With 13 laps to go, Omdahl dove to the inside of Nygaard and a lapped car to take the lead down the front straightaway. Nygaard tried to pull a crossover move in turns one and two, but Omdahl was too quick.

A restart with two laps to go put Nygaard right on the rear bumper of Omdahl, who was dealing with a broken right front shock. Despite fighting a wounded race car, Omdahl wheeled his No. 0 machine to the win over Nygaard, Austin Pierce, Chris Ranten and Jade Hastings.

CRARY, ND (May 12, 2018) – Jade Hastings topped a slim, but stout field of Buffalo Wild Wings/Canadian-American Outlaw Sprints Saturday at Devils Lake Speedway. Hastings grabbed the lead on lap one from the front row as Wade Nygaard split pole sitter Ty Hanten and Blake Egeland to take second.

From there it was a two-horse race as Nygaard tried to reel in Hastings, but Hastings was too quick. The 20-year-old Grand Forks driver opened up nearly a half-lap lead at the midpoint of the race as he effortlessly sliced his way through traffic.

Nygaard cut Hastings’ lead in half in the closing laps, but didn’t have enough to muster a serious challenge. Hastings cruised to his first career win at Devils Lake Speedway and third career Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprint Car win.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (May 10, 2018) – This Friday night the Buffalo Wild Wings Northern Outlaw Sprint Association will open its 25th anniversary season. It’s only fitting that the season kicks off at the track that has been the Friday night home of the series since its inception in 1994; River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks.

There is always excitement and anticipation surrounding each opening night, but the anxiousness seems to be at a new level this year.
