JAMESTOWN, N.D. (July 28, 2020) – Fourteen Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprints made the trip to Jamestown Speedway last Saturday night for the series’ 10th appearance at the speedway.
Mullen dominated the 25-lap feature, leading every trip around the high-banked quarter-mile oval to score his first career NOSA win.
When asked how it feels to get his first NOSA win, Mullen replied, “Overdue. I feel like we’ve been really close and getting a lot better lately, but have just had bad luck or I have made mistakes or have just been too aggressive. It feels good to get the first one out of the way. Hopefully, we can take this momentum to Mandan.”
Mullen drove out to a big lead early on, but NOSA point leader Jade Hastings tracked him down in the closing laps.
“I saw [Hastings] getting into lapped traffic once and I thought, ‘Oh boy, here he comes,’” said Mullen. “We were getting tighter and tighter in the rubber as the race went on. On that final corner, we made just a little bit of contact, but I had enough room to sneak by and beat him back to the checkered.”
The win was Mullen’s second of his career. His first came with the Canadian-American Outlaw Sprint Series at Devils Lake Speedway on August 24, 2019.
Nick Omdahl snuck around Hastings out of the final corner to finish second. Nygaard and Jack Croaker rounded out the top five.
For the third consecutive year, the Buffalo Wild Wing NOSA Sprints will head to Dacotah Speedway in Mandan, N.D. to be a part of the prestigious Governor’s Cup. Racing at the high-banked three-eighths mile oval can be seen on DacotahSpeedway.TV both Friday and Saturday night.
