GRAND FORKS, N.D. (March 17, 2023) – The Buffalo Wild Wings Northern Outlaw Sprint Association has their 2023 schedule set with a 22-race campaign which travels to seven tracks in three different states in the upper Midwest.
River Cities Speedway has played host as the series’ home track since its inception in 1994 and will hold 11 NOSA events this season.
The 410 winged Sprint Car series will make a pair of stops at Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon, Minn., Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D., I-90 Speedway in Hartford, S.D. and Dacotah Speedway in Mandan, N.D. for the popular Governor’s Cup event.
The series will also make a stop at Brown County Speedway in Aberdeen, S.D., Casino Speedway in Watertown, S.D., and make it’s debut at I-94 EMR Speedway in Fergus Falls, Minn. on July 13th in an event co-sanctioned with the Bumper-to-Bumper IRA Sprints.
The IRA Sprints will then follow the Northern Outlaw Sprints up to River Cities Speedway for the 2nd annual Buffalo Wild Wings King of the Wings on July 14th and 15th.
Last year’s King of the Wings event concluded in thrilling fashion as NOSA drivers Jade Hastings and Thomas Kennedy battled for the lead on the final lap until IRA’s Jake Blackhurst came from third to steal the win in the final set of turns.
River Cities Speedway will also host the ninth annual Buffalo Wild Wings Blazin’ Challenge on Aug. 18th, the Midwest Power Series in conjunction with NOSA on Sept. 1st, as well as five Wayne Anderson Cup events, which will have higher payouts and a separate points fund. Anderson was NOSA’s founder, a founding member of River Cities Speedway, and a long-time car owner and sponsor.
The 2022 NOSA season kicked off with Thomas Kennedy winning his first race back in a Sprint Car in over two years (due to the U.S./Canadian border closure from COVID-19), and ended with its winningest driver, Mark Dobmeier, claiming his third series title, and first since going back-to-back in 2003-2004.
The season will begin on May 5th at River Cities Speedway.
