The action kicks off on Friday night at River Cities Speedway during their annual 'Big Motor Mania' event. The series heads back to the 'Bullring' on a high, as Mark Dobmeier and Austin Pierce helped the series sweep the stout Wisconsin and adjacent Illinois based 410 group in the three-race series which started last Thursday night with the series debut at I-94 emr Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN. Dobmeier won the I-94 race, and Friday's follow up at River Cities before Austin Pierce became the series' fourth 50 race winner, claiming the Saturday night finale. Dobmeier's efforts in the Buffalo Wild Wings No. 13 helped him win the King of the Wings title, while Pierce entered the top ten in the series standings with his strong week in the Opp Construction No. 2A. | Austin Pierce scored his 50th series win last Saturday night. Brendan Mullen, the 2021 series champ who sits third in points, had a strong weekend of his own. Mullen finished second at Fergus Falls, and third on Saturday at River Cities, his 'worst' finish in the three-race set, a sixth place run on Friday night.
Once the series completes Friday night's Wayne Anderson Cup qualifier at River Cities, it's back to South Dakota for return trips to I-90 Speedway on Saturday night, and Casino Speedway on Sunday.
Tim Estenson didn't let a tire violation in qualifying slow him down during May's visit to Hartford, South Dakota's three-eighths mile I-90 Speedway. He charged from seventh (last) to second in his heat race, and re-drew a front row starting spot, leading all 20 laps in the Mission Foods No. 14T to score his first NOSA win. He joined Austin Pierce as NOSA victors at the Speedway, with Estenson's win coming in the series return to the Southeast South Dakota speed plant for the first time since Pierce's win in May 2021.
On Sunday, the series makes its fourth appearance at Watertown's tricky little bullring, the Casino Speedway, where Jade Hastings enters as the winner of the two most recent visits to the track. Hastings won in the Ault Construction No. 8H last July after his first win at the quarter-mile the previous September.
Three-time and defending series champion Mark Dobmeier enters the weekend as the point leader by 37 points over Jade Hastings. Brendan Mullen is as the Omdahl cousins sit fourth and fifth respectively, with Nick fourth in the CMS No. 0 and Zach fifth in the Minn-Kota Power Co-op No. 17.
Blake Egeland is sixth in the Eckman Dental Arts No. 26, with Jack Croaker seventh in the Hugo's Family Marketplace 8Ball, and Austin Pierce eighth.
Tim Estenson and Jordan Graham complete the top ten, with Graham tenth in the Advanced Tile and Stone No. 99.
Racing is scheduled to begin at seven o'clock on Friday, and 6:30 pm during the South Dakota shows.
