GRAND FORKS, N.D. (July 18, 2020) – Austin Pierce won his fourth feature of the 2020 campaign at River Cities, while Jade Hastings scored his second win of the season at the Devils Lake Speedway near Crary, ND.

On Friday night, Pierce started the evening winning the RZS Enterprises quick time award, then went on to finish third after starting sixth in his heat, scoring enough passing points to make the feature redraw. Pierce redrew the pole for the main event, with Jade Hastings redrawing the outside of the front row, setting up a showdown between the winners of four of the five features held at River Cities prior to that night’s contest.
Hastings took the lead on the initial green and led from there, through the events only two cautions on lap two and nine.

Hastings was working lapped traffic on the 17th circuit when Austin Pierce made the pass for the lead in three and four with eight remaining.

Pierce went unchallenged from there, winning his fourth at the Bullring in 2020 over Hastings, Wade Nygaard, 16th starting Bobby Martin, and Jack Croaker.

Pierce said after the win that, "The track really started coming in there at the end for me. I was kind of all over the place, but Jade, he got up front there and started running away with it a little bit. I found something on the bottom and middle out of turn four, and I could tell I was slowly pulling him back in. I got to a lapped car the forced me back to the bottom, and I found the moisture that ultimately got me by Jade."

On Saturday night, the series made the trip west to the Devils Lake Speedway near Crary, ND, for their first and only appearance of the 2020 season.

Hastings, Colton Young, and Croaker were the heat winners to start the night. Young's heat win was the first of his career.

NOSA rookie Tim Estenson and series sophomore Travis Strandell lead the field to the green for the 25 lap main event.

A pileup in turn four marred the initial start, as Greg Nikitenko, Martin, and Tom Egeland had to end their nights early.

On the restart, Hastings charged to the front after moving to the outside front row after the first lap pile-up.

Hastings had to hold off Brendan Mullen and Jack Croaker on a pair of restarts near the midway point of the race, but continued to lead as Jordan Adams and Wade Nygaard charged from the back of the field.

Adams and Nygaard tangled in their heat race, and started 16th and 17th respectively.

The final caution with five laps remaining put Nygaard within striking distance of the lead, after swapping an incredible amount of sliders with his teammate Mullen.

Hastings was able to hold off the charging Nygaard, however, winning his second NOSA feature of the season over Nygaard, Mullen, Adams, and Croaker.

Hastings said of his race afterwards, "I got up to the front pretty quick, and spent a few laps searching arounf where my car wanted to be. After that it was pretty much an easy drive. The car was really good, and I just had to pick my way through lapped traffic. All in all, I pretty good win."
