GRAND FORKS, ND/GLYNDON, MN (September 18) – This weekend marks not only the final double-header weekend for the NOSA Sprints, but the final two events of the entire 2015 season.
Things kick off Friday night at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks with the Outlaw Sprint Car track championship. Defending champ, Austin Pierce, brings in a 12 point lead in the RCS standings over Wade Nygaard. Pierce has one win at RCS, while Nygaard has a pair of wins at the high-banked 3/10th mile bullring.
The season will come to a close Sunday night at Buffalo River Race Park with one of the biggest paying events of the year. The “King of the Wings” event, presented by Buffalo Wild Wings will award an outstanding $2,000 to the winner and $500 just to start the 25-lap A-main. The big payout has attracted some of the best talent in the area as both Dusty Zomer, driver of the Buffalo Wild Wings #82, and the winningest driver in River Cities Speedway history, Mark Dobmeier, with both be in attendance, competing for the “King of the Wings” title.
Also up for grabs Sunday night will be the NOSA Sprint Car series championship. A season long grind that began back in early May and has endured 20+ events will finally conclude at the tight Glyndon, MN quarter-mile. Wade Nygaard leads Austin Pierce and Casey Mack in his quest for a series leading eighth championship.
Racing Friday night begins at 7pm. Sunday night racing commences at 6pm in Glyndon!
